From The South (A11 route)

Follow the A11 and come off at the sliproad signposted Newmarket A1304 (the previous turnoff is for Balsham, Fulbourn and Teversham and has Newmarket ahead). Follow the road until you reach the Racecourse roundabout (it has a statue of a rearing horse) and go straight over (third exit, signposted Newmarket).

Follow the road straight (passing a Petrol Station on your left) until you reach a T-Junction with traffic lights at the bottom of the slope. Get in the middle lane and turn right. Follow the windy road. The Train Station is up the road on your right just before the low bridge and on the left a short way up, it is tiny.

Continue following the windy road past the traffic parking nightmare and a Shop on your left until you see the New Wellington Pub. Take the right turn up Duchess Drive. The site is at the end of the houses on your left after three side roads and very well hidden. If you miss it, take the next left, take a hairpin right at the end of that road, then right at the crossroads to get back on the road and approach from the other direction.

From The A14

Come off the A14 at junction 37 and take the A142 signposted to Newmarket. This will take you past Burger King, a Tescos with petrol (turn right at the mini roundabout just after) and the Premier Inn before you reach the Clocktower roundabout. Take the second exit (signposted Claire, Moulton, Tattersalls).

Follow the road, going past Chinese and Indian Takeaways until you go down a hill and reach a staggered junction with the New Wellington Pub on your left. Turn left then immediately right onto Duchess Drive. The site is at the end of the houses on your left after three side roads and very well hidden. If you miss it, take the next left, take a hairpin right at the end of that road, then right at the crossroads to get back on the road and approach from the other direction.

By Public Transport

Trains run hourly (two-hourly on Sundays) between Cambridge and Ipswich stopping at Newmarket (and other places) on the way. For those of you coming from Cambridge, the train to Newmarket usually goes from platform 6, which is hidden around the back(ish) of the main building. It is likely that lifts will be available back to Cambridge station on Sunday.

On getting to Newmarket station either walk to the site (1.5 miles with a hill involved), ask someone on site to give you a lift or hire a taxi, which should be fairly cheap.

1 Taxis number: 01638 560660

There are buses to Newmarket from Cambridge(11 and 12), Ely(12) and Bury St Edmunds (11). They do NOT run on Sundays, but lifts to Cambridge are likely to be available on Sunday. The 11 leaves Cambridge bus station at 50 minutes past the hour, and the 12 leaves at 20 minutes past the hour, stopping at around 6pm.

You will go past a roundabout with a rearing horse on it and down into the town itself, get off at the bus stop next to KFC after passing some traffic lights.

Your options from here are to get a taxi (there's often one in the bays near the bus stop), walk or ask for a lift. If asking for a lift I suggest you cross the road and take the road which splits off from the main street at the traffic lights called the Avenue as there's more places to stop, or continue walking until you reach the train station, as there may be people there also waiting for a lift or a taxi.
